Good questions

Frequently asked

What ages is this for?

Children of primary and secondary school age, from absolute beginners to competitive juniors. Your child is grouped with others at a similar age and level.

Does my child need to know how to play already?

Not at all. Many students start not knowing how the pieces move. We also have groups for improvers and competitive players.

How does the €5 first month work?

New students get their first month of weekly lessons (one a week) for €5, then the normal weekly price. You can cancel anytime before renewal — no contract.

How big are the groups?

A maximum of five children per group, so every child gets real attention from the coach.

Is one-to-one coaching available?

Yes — one-to-one coaching is available on request, alongside or instead of small-group lessons.

What do I need to take part?

Just a laptop or tablet with a camera and internet. Lessons run live on video, and homework puzzles are set on Chess.com or Lichess — both free.

Are the coaches qualified and safe?

Yes. Every coach is an experienced teacher, background-checked and trained in child online safety. Lessons happen in private, moderated video rooms.

Can I see how my child is progressing?

Absolutely. Your parent dashboard shows their rating climbing, skills growing, and notes from the coach after lessons.

Can I join my child’s lessons?

Yes — parents are always welcome to be present for any lesson.

Is there a free option?

Yes. You can create a free self-study account with puzzles, homework and a progress report, then add a real coach whenever you’re ready.

Which plan should I choose?

Most families start with one lesson a week (the €5 first month). Two or three lessons a week suit children who want faster progress.

What if we miss a lesson?

Life happens — just let your coach know and we’ll do our best to help your child catch up.

What if we want to cancel?

You can cancel anytime from your account in a couple of clicks. No phone calls, no retention scripts.

How soon can we start?

Usually within days. Tell us your child’s age and experience, and we’ll place them in the right group.
